Uncle Tiger and the Long Quest for Starbucks

This morning Jaron and I went to see if we could get the wheel on the Mara's, a fellow resident of Heidi's, luggage fixed at a local repair shop.  We were pulling the luggage the first day and the wheel popped off!  Today Jarona and I were unprepared for the owner of the store, Uncle Tiger.  He greeted us by saying he was now the oldest person in Oahu.  The former captain kept the two of us entertained for about thirty minutes, with his stories of owning 30 units, quizzing us on his rank and ignoring Jaron's attempts for an autograph.  After testing Jaron's reading ability, and complimenting my english, he recommended to not pay $0.10 to have the bag fixed.  As we left we convinced him to have a picture with us, he wouldn't give a thumps up, but would give a fist.

When we left Uncle Tiger we headed to Walmart to buy a new suitcase (sorry Dave and Mara) before heading home.  By the time we made it back to the apartment it was time to wake Heidi up and get ready to head to Mariners Ridge.  Heidi and I had already done the hike but we really enjoyed it so we wanted Christina and Jaron to have a chance at it too.

The weather was warm today drying out many of the areas that were muddy the last time Heidi and I hiked the trail.  Once we finished the hike we decided to head to Red Lobster to get a larger meal for a late lunch since Heidi has to work again tonight.  Later that night, Jaron, Christina and I decided to head out to Starbucks(I don't drink coffee).  Jaron found one on his phone about a mile away, as we traveled through Waikiki we began to think that their had to be a closer one.  After leaving the Starbucks, we passed at least three other stores on a different route that were closer to the apartment.  I guess it was a good warmup for Christina who is running in a 10k tomorrow morning.
