"Book 'em, Danno"

Today we slept in and then drove over to Waimea.  It is situated at the bottom of a large mountain and is a small two-traffic-light town.  We were looking for some shops that sold authentic hawaiian made items. We found some very expensive pieces of Koa woodwork, but not much else.  The drive was nice though.

We returned to the hotel and went out to the beach.  The water was similar to the Gulf Coast in Florida with not very large waves.  It was clearer though and we could still see our feet in 5 foot water.  After a relaxing day we drove to the airport and flew back to Oahu.  Before our flight Heidi got a text message from Peyton Hassinger, a fellow Palmetto Health resident.  They were stopping through Hawaii on their way to Samoa for a mission trip.  We unfortunately couldn't meet up because we arrived back to Honolulu so late.

For the rest of the trip we will be in Oahu.   Heidi will be working on the weekends and we will spend the rest of the time exploring the island.  According to the news Hawaii Five-O is back to filming on Oahu.  I wonder if they have any openings for the next two weeks while Heidi is at work.
