"And we're walking, and we're walking, and we're stopping."

We woke up early and our breakfast was brought to our door at 7:45 am.  It was a huge spread of fruit, egg and sausage croissants, sweet cornbread, coffee, and OJ.  We ate some, packed up some of it for our hike and headed out.

We started the Kilauea Iki Crater hike at the top of a huge crater.  The faint white line across the left bottom of the crater pictured below is what we hiked across.  It was a 4 mile hike in all when you loop around the crater and then down into it and back up.  It was great weather and a fun hike.

We then drove to Hilo to do some sightseeing.  We saw some beautiful Banyan trees and went to a public park garden called: Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens.

We also hit up Rainbow Falls.  Above the falls there were a bunch of Banyan trees that would be any 10 year old boy's dream for climbing, particularly Patrick's from what I hear of him swinging from curtains when he was young.

On our way to the west coast we stumbled upon Kaumana Cave.  It was awesome.  We were lucky to have our flashlights with us!

After a long fun day we arrived at the Hapuna Prince Hotel.  We are fortunate to have an agreement with our residency program and the Prince so we get a great discounted rate.  We walked around the hotel and had a delicious dinner while watching the sunset.  After dinner we went out to the beach and did some stargazing.  There were so many stars!!

We then hit the sheets because tomorrow is another early morning.  We are set for some kayaking and snorkeling at the Captain Cook Monument.
